Take a deep breath. It will be okay. You are here. You can be techie. This workshop gives you a number of different ways to inspire yourself, or your colleagues to increase their tech in the classroom in useful ways. Tons of resources which we will walk through and use. These are not just some random list, but these have been tried out in classrooms. The list of tools ranges from increasing student voice, checking for understanding, coding options, digital citizenship, and digital skill training. Tools include activities that can be aligned to standards and those that can be linked / synced to Google Classroom. This is for beginners and intermediates to the world of Tech, especially those that are looking for something to help give their classroom that special something.
Attendees will learn about various ways to capitalize on the productive use of technology within the classroom. Through the use of games (both participation by attendees and demonstration). They will use a variety of tools to learn how to increase tech in the classroom so that students choice and voice can be heard. These tools will be shown and used to show how checks for understanding can be done with a variety of ways. It will be a hands-on session where participants tryout many different forms of web-based activities / applications within a 21st century classroom.
LO-5-1 Participants who demonstrate an understanding will be able to select an appropriate tool as a formative assessment and create an assessment.
LO-5-2 Participants who demonstrate an understanding will be able to install, log-in, sign-up, or provide codes to enroll students in several of these tools to increase a student’s ability to express themselves.
